MINISTRY ON ECOLOGICAL CRISIS

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made...Rom 1:20

The purpose in creating a ministry on the ecological crisis in Zambia is to bring, an awareness and appreciation, to social, political, youth and religious leaders of the fact that since the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there in, then humans must take good care of the creation of God.  The knowledge gained through this ministry would excite in the leadership a passion to educate the world concerning the ecological crisis, and call for humanity to become responsible stewards of the creation of God.

This ministry will have five departments

  1. Department of information which shall be responsible for the gathering of information from around the world and dissemination this information to the rest of the world.
  2. The department of Sensitization which shall be responsible for conducting seminar around the nation and the world as a whole.
  3. Department of research and projects which shall be responsible for research and the initiating projects and experiments that will lead to finding solutions to the environmental crisis.
  4. Social department which shall be responsible for organizing social functions that shall be centered on educating society on the environmental crisis.
  5. Educational department will be responsible for the reach out to school and colleges and conduct lessons and lectures on the ecological crisis.

People must be aware of the fact that it is a sin to do harm to the environment in which we live.  If the earth is owned by God then people must be cognizant of the fact that he requires us to be good stewards of his creation.  Stewardship should not be confined to finances and spiritual gifts, as the church has always propounded, but must be extended to the stewardship of the environment.
